On the 29th of September, the start of the XVIII World Volleyball Women's Championship took place; On this occasion, Japan was the host country. And on October 20 was the closing of the event.
Twenty-four national teams affiliated to the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) competed in the event, among them the Mexican one, who after 36 years returned to achieve a victory in this competition, now against Argentina. However, the participation of the Mexican national team was not at all favorable, since they did not manage to go to the third phase.
In the last World Cup (Italy, 2014), the winning country was the United States, followed by China and Brazil. In this edition, the gold went to Serbia, who won their first world title by winning the final in Italy, which won the silver; and finally China, which took the bronze. The best player of the Championship was Tijana Boskovic of Serbia, who also positioned herself as the fifth best scorer of the tournament.
